This is essentially a self-service hostel which I enjoyed a lot. It was a new experience but I'd check myself in, grab my key card and was good to go. It took away the anxiety element of communication with my poor Japanese. The hostel is up the road from the train station which is perfect and is about a 20-minute walk to all the attractions, the castle, parks and museums. There is a familymart across the road with many options if you're planning on an affordable trip. I slept in the women's only area; the bunks are cosy and we have our own desks and appliances to share. I will note tho that the walls are a little thin so if you are a VERY light sleeper, I wouldn't recommend it but everyone is very considerate at all times of the day. It was very quiet and peaceful. Overall I had an amazing stay here, will definitely stay here again in the future.
