The meal, the bathroom and the beautiful family hotel is so fantastic that more foreigners should know and at least have a visit if they plan to go to hikone castle. We arrived late accidentially but Mr Nakamizo still managed to present a delicious and abundant dinner to us. Food so delicious that we wished to have one more stay, especially for the Omi beef, which is amazing and only costs 1000 yen for 150g. Food so abundant and recommended to the big eater. Mr and Mrs Nakamizo is very nice and helpful for just everything, including the transportation to the Hikone for us. I can speak Japanese and therefore don,t know whether Mr Nakamizo's English is ok. But I don't think is a big issue. The hotel is not located in the walking distance from Hikone station. But if you have three or more people, taxi is not expensive and is around the same when taking a train.
