It is located next to an observatory from where you can take very cool pictures. The view is spectacular at dusk. At night, the stars are visible so you can take long exposure photos from said observatory. The view from the hotel rooms and dining room is also pretty good. It is also pretty close to the major temples of the city.
If you are coming from Onomichi station, don't follow the path outlined by Google maps (as of Nov 2022), since it'll take you through overgrown weeds. Take a small detour through a bigger street to the right of the path. If you pass next to the graveyard, you are going the right way (probably).
As the other reviews mention, the folks at the hotel were incredibly friendly. Like Gojo is the strongest, they are the friendliest.
