We booked a plan with dinner + breakfast and private onsen. We were a bit late to the hotel due to heavy rain and have to drive slower and we arrived the hotel at 19:30. The old man in the front desk can only speak japanese and we cannot speak japanese at all but he keep on speaking in japanese and he bring us to the room. No dinner is served and we have to buy our own dinner.

Upon check out front desk request us to pay the full price dinner + breakfast plan. A lady can speak simple english told us call if you know you will be late. The problem is even if we called no one can understand what we say so what is the point? Webpage mentioned dinner is serve until 2000 and last order is 1930. The situation could be much better if they can offer simple food to us. It was truly to my surprise that it had been many times we visit onsen hotel in japan and most of the time the staff cannot speak english but it always works out. This is the worst experience for us in japan so far.
